Most employees are hourly workers entitled to OVERTIME PAY. This includes most child care workers.
Employees may be EXEMPT from overtime, but only if their compensation reaches a certain level AND their job functions fall into specified categories. The duties of an exempt child care worker would have to be categorized as EXECUTIVE or ADMINISTRATIVE.
In addition, the current minimum salary for exempt employees is $455 per week.
